Susan Perks was called to the Bar in 2005 by Lincoln’s Inn having undertaken the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law where she was awarded the grade of “very competent”.
From 2006 Susan pursued her legal career as a Family & Children Law Solicitor and Partner, in a nationwide firm, where she gained a significant wealth of experience and knowledge advising and representing her clients at Court, in all family matters. Susan became an accredited member of The Law Society Family Panel and The Law Society Children Panel enabling her to represent children and adults in public law Children Act proceedings. Susan was also a member of Resolution.
Having returned to the Bar, Susan has a wide ranging practice with a particular emphasis on public and private law Children Act proceedings. In private law cases Susan deals with Child Arrangement Orders (contact & residence), and other specific issues such as change of name and relocation cases. In public law proceedings Susan acts for parents, Local Authorities and Guardians in care and supervision proceedings alongside special guardianship cases.
Susan’s practice also includes financial cases where she deals with applications for financial remedy in divorce proceedings.
Susan grew up in Surrey, and moved to Essex in 1997 where she settled with her husband. Susan enjoys long rambling walks with her three Labradors through the Essex countryside, come rain or shine, and volunteers for various animal charities including Labrador Rescue & Oldies Club, and is a huge animal lover.
